What is hemangioma and how is it treated?

Hemangioma or pediatric hemangioma is the subject of this article. You may also want to learn more about hemangiomas who have entered this page. If this is the case, we will be with Tita to the end of this article to review with each other what hemangiomas are, the causes, factors and methods of treatment.

What is hemangioma?
Hemangiomas are referred to the masses or non-cancerous tumors of the blood vessels. These tumors are the most common tumors among children, and the good news about them is that they are mostly eliminated without any special treatment.

In most cases, tumors associated with hemangiomas do not cause a particular problem for children, however, in some cases, they are accompanied by bleeding and even pain. In addition to bleeding and pain, depending on their size and location, they may cause ugly appearance. It is noteworthy that hemangiomas sometimes come with tumors on some internal organs, including the liver, the brain and the digestive tract. Fortunately, internal hemangioma usually does not endanger either.

How Does Hemangiome Extend?
1- Skin hemangiomas
Skin hemangiomas develop when there is an abnormal blood vessel in a skin point. Experts are uncertain about why somewhere in one part of the body such a body is caused by blood vessels, but they believe that this is caused by certain proteins produced in the pair during pregnancy. In fact, this applies when the child is still not born and is in the womb.

Hepatic hemangioma
But liver hemangioma develops on the surface of the liver, and they seem to be sensitive to estrogen. An explanation that menstrual periods are prescribed for many estrogen women to eliminate estrogen-induced symptoms. But this prescription estrogen enters the body and stimulates liver hemangiomas and increases it. Contraceptive use can also play a role in the development of hepatic hemangiomas.

Symptoms of hemangiomas
Hemangiomas usually do not cause a specific symptom, but in general, the main symptom of skin hemangiomas is the presence of red masses on the skin. In fact, due to the redness and smallness of skin hemangiomas, they are sometimes referred to as strawberry hemangiomas. These masses are mainly formed on the head and neck.

But internal hemangioma is largely asymptomatic unless the hemangioma becomes too large or the number of hemangiomas increases. In such a situation, some symptoms occur, including:

nausea
Vomit
Loss of appetite
Sudden weight loss
Feel the fairy in the belly
Diagnosis of hemangiomas
There is no specific test for the diagnosis of skin hemangiomas, but the physician can identify skin hemangiomas through visual tests and self-examination. However, for the diagnosis of internal hemangioma, experiments such as MRI, CT scan and even ultrasound are used.

Causes and causes of hemangiomas
Speaking of the causes of hemangiomas above, it was spoken about in the spread of its agents and it was said that it was not exactly clear what the hemangioma was causing, although some believed that it was protein. But there are a number of factors that increase the potential for hemangioma, including:

Being female
Premature baby
Baby being white
Hemangioma treatment
A small hemangioma does not require special treatment, and after a while it is lost, but the hemangioma requires treatment and a series of things must be used to disappear. Some useful treatments for large hemangiomas include:

Corticosteroid medications (Corticosteroids are usually injected into hemangiomas to stop their growth process and inflammation is lost.)
Beta blockers (beta blockers, such as the timolol gel, are also used in some cases to treat small and superficial hemangiomas, usually prescribed for 6 to 12 months and taken daily).
Laser therapy (sometimes laser is used to reduce redness or, in general, to eliminate hemangioma).
Becaplermin gel is a type of gel that is also used to treat hemangiomas, which is known as becaplermin, which is used to treat hemangiomas that have ulcers and does not have healing effects on hemangiomas.)
Surgery (If the hemangioma is large or that it is located in the sensitive area, the doctor may use surgery to treat it.)
Internal hemangioma also requires treatment if it is large and the main treatment is surgery: either hemangioma surgery or a member of the surgical procedure involved in hemangioma.

Last speech

Hemangioma is not a dangerous thing in general, and in most cases it is spontaneous. But in general, it's best to consult a doctor for any type of hemangioma anywhere in the body to make a final decision to your doctor.
